There's a lovely analysis of the lyrics of "The Wishing Star (Nozomi no Hoshi)" on Eve Kushner's Kanji Curiosity blog. Her blogs on kanji are always so insightful. I learned a lot about the lyrics that I didn't know and I'm the one who co-wrote them! :-) Thank you, Eve!

Wendy, your new book sounds GREAT! I'm looking forward to reading both of your books. It'll have to wait until we get back to the U.K.: we've had three entire boxes (one chock full of books) not reach us here, one sent from Japan, two sent from the U.K. It seems that the postal system is not entirely dependable, so we're a little leery of wasting any more money on books that go missing. But your books are at the top of my list now, and I know my girls will want to read them too!
